My next VIC-20 is a Japanese one. Interestingly, there is no country prefeix on the Serial No - the Serial No just being plain old 542785. But the sticker still displays the "Made in Japan" designation, and also states 9VAC, so this is another one of the single voltage units.
Another interesting thing is the VIC-20 label. According to Giacomo M. Vernoni's Old Computer website - this sticker on this unit should be from a US model, but this is clearly a Japanese unit. Having said that I also note on Giacomo's VIC-20 Register other people also have this sticker on non-American units, and again from the registry, tehy seem to have been distributed widely - Australia, Italy, Switzerland, UK, Canada, Norway, Germany and others. That may be misleading though - the registry simply records where each VIC-20 is located now - so collectors in say Norway, may have bought the computer from a seller in say, the UK.
