Watches

This is where I put all my Watch restorations

I've always had an interest in watches. They've got a bit of everything, a great history, mechanical movements, looks and more. But it's only recently that I've decided to actually have a go at repairing/restoring them.

As you will see, my first efforts are very basic, ie: replacing the battery in Quartz watches. Although my my main interest is in mechanical watches, replacing the battery in a few Quartz Watches has been a good place to start. Through this I have learned how to safely open the care backs of a number of different style cases, aquired to tools to do so, and I've began to experience just how small some of the insides are. On YouTube videos, things look small, but workable. But in real life, I was surprised at just how small the things are. In my Breitling (fake) - one of the screws securing the battery retainer was astoundingly small, not all that much bigger than a grain of dust!! But, if it were easy, it would be no challenge.

So as you will see, I progress from Quartz battery replacements to largish sized Pockete Watches, and on from there.
